Tatarstan becomes one of the first regions of Russia to implement the Astra Linux operating system
Tatarstan became one of the first regions in Russia to implement the Astra Linux operating system in government agencies. This step became an important stage in the process of digitalization of the region and the implementation of the import substitution strategy.
Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization together with the ICL Services team successfully completed the task of replacing the Windows operating system with the domestic Astra Linux on more than 150,000 computers of state institutions of the republic.
In a short period of time, they were transferred to the new software:
• 45 municipal government agencies;
• 18 ministries;
• 19 executive authorities and their subordinate organizations.
The transition to domestic software was a priority task under the national project "Digital Economy". Import substitution is included in the range of tasks of the information security and telecommunications and communications unit of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization. A striking result of the work done was receiving first place in the competition from Global CIO in the nomination "Project of the Year 2024".
These steps will strengthen the information security of Tatarstan, as well as increase the efficiency of digital resources.
