20 September 2024, Friday

This summer the number of guests from BRICS countries increased by 60% compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, the influx of guests from Brazil and South Africa is especially noticeable. This is evidenced by MegaFon analytics based on big data.

The 16th BRICS summit is scheduled only for October, but residents of the association's countries are already actively visiting Kazan. In June-August, the largest share of guests were visitors from China - about 63% of the total number of tourists from the BRICS countries. Over the year, the number of guests from China has increased by 1.5 times. Nevertheless, Brazil and South Africa are leading in terms of traveler growth: compared to last year's summer, the tourist flow from these countries has increased by 3.8 and 3.1 times, respectively. Foreigners are interested in both the cultural and historical sights of Kazan and the modern urban environment. Among the most popular places to visit are the Kazan Kremlin, Bauman Street, Millennium Square, the Bashir Rameev IT Park and the embankment of Lake Kaban, as well as shopping and entertainment complexes and gastronomic facilities.
