Volga Federal District becomes second in number of DDoS attacks on business and the public sector

MTS, the digital ecosystem, reports that its subsidiary in the field of cybersecurity MTS RED has repelled 15,9 thousand DDoS attacks on customers' web resources in the first half of 2024. Organizations in Tatarstan, together with other regions of the Volga Federal District, accounted for 13% of the incidents, and most of the attacks were in the Central Federal District.

According to MTS RED, in the first half of 2024, 2.6 times more DDoS attacks were committed and repelled than in the whole of 2023. Most of the incidents occurred in June (25.7%), 18.7% in May and 16.9% in March. The longest of the DDoS attacks was almost 20 hours, and the Far Eastern industrial company was protected from it.
