From September 8 to September 10, on the sidelines of the KAZAN DIGITAL WEEK-2024 International Forum, the III Final of All-Russian Student Cyberbattle will be held.
The competition is organized by Russian IT company Innostage, a cyberconsultant, integrator and developer of services and solutions in the field of digital security.
The All-Russian Student Cyber Battle will involve teams of attackers (red team) and defenders (blue team), represented by students of Russian universities. The selection of "red" teams will be made from applications from students and postgraduates of higher educational institutions of Russia with experience in competitions in sports hacking (CTF). To apply for participation in the cyberbattle as an ethical hacker is possible at the link.
The defenders will be graduates of the educational project Student SOC. The pilot project was launched in 2022 at four universities in Tatarstan, and today the Student IB Union already includes about 10 universities with an IT/IB profile from all over Russia.
During the competition, the red teams will legally attack the virtual infrastructure, and the blue teams will track their actions and investigate information security incidents. Innostage experts will recreate the technological processes of the oil and gas industry, electric power industry, banking sector, urban infrastructure facilities, medicine, government systems, as well as a typical commercial office. Scenarios of digital disasters will be modeled based on real incidents. Viewers and participants will be able to see on the model the consequences of such attacks as fraud in financial systems, business process disruption, hacking and encryption. The training and technical training of defenders, as well as the judging and coordination of the battle will be carried out by the Cyber Threat Counteraction Center Innostage SOC CyberART.
During the competition, teams will be awarded points. The attacking and defending teams that score the most points will receive 100,000 roubles.
