On August 13, the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS) celebrates its 22nd anniversary. Established by a decree of Russian President in 2001, the enterprise united disparate radio and television centers into a single production and technological complex - the basis of the country's information space, a natural monopoly in communications.
The world’s largest digital television network includes 5,051 transmission stations and provides 98.6 per cent of Russian residents with the possibility of receiving 20 mandatory public TV channels and three radio stations. The total amount of RTRS television and radio broadcasts exceeds 570 million hours per year.
The RTRS network becomes a cross-industry, multifunctional digital platform.
On August 13, in honor of the significant date, RTRS TV towers from all federal districts will turn on festive lights.
