On February 27 and March 1, Kazan Aviation Institute hosted lectures on cyber security organized by Innostage Company under the project of the Interuniversity Information Security Monitoring Centre. This educational programme of the company is aimed at preparing project participants for work in cybersecurity training and combat training laboratories.
More than 120 students, professors and employees of four support universities (Kazan Aviation Institute, Kazan State Power Engineering University, Kazan Federal University, University of Innopolis) attended the theoretical introductory course. From this course, they learned what Information Security Monitoring Centres are and what they are like. Innostage experts described the functions of the Centers, what are the roles, what are the responsibility of the employees, and what are the processes of the analysts on duty shift and much more. Topics related to threat analysis and search, penetration testing, cyber exercises, as well as creation of content for monitoring tools aroused great interest of the lecturers. Some universities have already created student communities on cybersecurity, which can be used to organize and conduct student cyber battles.
An agreement on the creation of Russia’s first Interuniversity Cybersecurity Service Provider was signed on the sidelines of Kazan Digital Week 2022. Student cybersecurity centers will be created on the basis of a consortium of flagship universities of Tatarstan.
