Russian Deputy Minister of Finances Andrei Ivanov: Russian leadership believes in Innopolis project

On August 5 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on implementation of projects Innopolis, Kama innovation cluster and engineering centres at Tatarstan Government House. Russian Deputy Minister of Finances Andrei Ivanov took part in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting Andrey Ivanov noted that for the federal center Tatarstan is not only the key region in the state innovation policy but a model platform featuring almost all forms of government support of the innovation policy.
“We should think about creation of a center in Tatarstan Republic, where you could share your experience in government support of the innovation policy,” Andrey Ivanov addressed Tatarstan President.
Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov told about implementation of the Innopolis project, development of this special economic zone, establishment of the University and city infrastructure.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is necessary to study the international practices when creating new cities, as well as financing experience. Andrey Invanov, in his turn, emphasized that the country leadership is confident in Innopolis project realization. “We are sure that Tatarstan is capable of making the next step in IT industry development,” Deputy Minister said.
About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
