On December 9, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an unveiling ceremony of a memorial plaque in honor of Signalman Colonel Boris Kuznetsov. A memorial plaque was installed at Gorky Street 3B in Kazan, where he lived his last years.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Kuznetsov was a man of great personal courage, a true patriot who became a Hero of the Soviet Union at the age of 19.
Kuznetsov was a soldier-communicator. Since 1943, he commanded the communications section of the artillery battery. He participated in the Battle of Leningrad, in the Demyanskaya and Starorus operations, in the Battle of Kursk. He received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his heroic deed at the crossing of the Dnieper in October 1943.
