Results on functioning of information and telecommunication systems during World Summer Universiade

27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan successfully finished in Kazan last week. 92 thousand participants and 2 thousand organisations were accredited for the Games. 16 thousand certificates for visa-free entrance to Russia were issued.
2,7 mln people visited Universiade Portal within 12 days of competitions. 530 thousand people looked through the website every day. 540 thousand people called the contact centre. Video analytics and video archiving were realized round-the-clock at 53 Universiade objects. General contractor of the system was the Centre of Information Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan and Director General Almaz Valiullin.
Sports venues were united by a single data transmission network due to which all information, security and telephone systems were functioning at all objects.
Wi-Fi was provided at 37 sports venues. For the first time the ticket sales and booking system via infomats was used. The system was developed by OOO “Informatika” and the Centre of Information Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan. Special reading terminals were installed to provide access to Universiade objects.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
