Google opens temporary office in Kazan

Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov told about arrangements reached during St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. In particular, Google is willing to become Tatarstan partner in many educational projects, one of which is IT-champion contest, and open a temporary office in Kazan.
“We’ve been working with Google within a few months and we decided to expand our cooperation on the educational project in the sphere of electronic state services - IT-champion. We have also agreed with Cisco company on opening an accreditation centre for specialists in Kazan.
During our meeting with SAP we discussed opening of a competence service centre, with IBM, Cisco and Microsoft - issues of cooperation within the framework of Innopolis project. I’m very glad that international companies are interested in Tatarstan,” Roman Shaikhutdinov said.
To the point, two memorandums on mutual understanding were signed with Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited and IDA International Pte at the forum.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.

On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
