As many as 80,000 Russian teachers to be taught digital competencies

Educational support centre at the Russian University Innopolis will continue to operate until 2024.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin siged a decree of the Federal Government on the allocation of a federal subsidy of 6.4 billion roubles for financing of the centre.

By 2024, the Russian IT university will train teachers in 143 programmes included in all stages of education - secondary special, higher and additional. According to the plan, next year the number of students will be 16,000 people, in 2022 – 17,900, in 2023 – 22,100 and in 2024 – 24,000.

“Industry representatives are involved in the development of the programmes, and they set up relevant learning pathways to ensure that the competences obtained are the most demanded,” Head of the Centre Elena Makarova says.

Educational support centre at Innopolis Innopolis University was established in 2020. As many as 3,000 teachers and methodists are already studying according to the programme of professional development «Digital technologies in the teaching of specialized disciplines».

According to estimates of the Russian IT university, they will be able to teach digital competences to more than 10,000 students in broad subject areas.
