For 10 years Megafon has invested 6 bln rubles in Tatarstan network

Director of Volga branch of Megafon company Aleksandr Grigoriev told about results of 10-year work of OAO “Megafon” in Tatarstan. Director of regional branch of OAO “Megafon” Maxim Necheukhin and Manager of the project “Universiade 2013” Sergey Obydennikov participated in the conference in IT-park.
Aleksandr Grigoriev summarized results of the company’s work. He informed that for 10 years Megafon had invested 6 bln rubles in Tatarstan network. 1,3 bln rubles were paid to republican budget.
Now the company has 1600 basic stations, 3700 km of fiber-optic communication lines, 2G communication and mobile Internet are available for 95 per cent of citizens, 3G – for 85 per cent of citizens. 4G network was launched in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny in 2012.
Director of Volga branch told that Megafon company had been cooperating with Tatarstan Government for a long time.

In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.
Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
