Project of interactive map for handicapped people presented in IT park

Realization of the program “Accessible environment” and the project of interactive map for handicapped people were presented in IT-park.

Deputy Minister of labour, employment and social protection Irina Prosviryakova, employees of district organizations of the Tatar republican organization of All-Russia Association of the disabled, All-Russia Association of the deaf, All-Russia Order of the Red Banner of Labour of Association of the blind, Republican Council of veterans, employees of GUP “Center of information technologies” participated in the event.

According to Head of the Department for geoinformatics and monitoring of the RT Center of information technologies Georgy Tsoi, the event favoured improvement of the map that was under development.

For now, using the accessibility map handicapped people can learn how this or that institution is adapted for disabled people. In prospect, the interactive map will enable handicapped people laying the convenient route by themselves. The map is based on passportization data of the objects collected in all municipalities of the republic under the program “Accessible environment”.

The problem of accessibility of urban environment for handicapped people is very urgent. Thus, the category “Accessible environment for handicapped people” was established in the state information system “People’s control” on the Portal uslugi.tatarstan.ru. 120 requests have now been received in this category. More than 2,7 thousand users have supported problems of handicapped people.
