5 September 2012, Wednesday
617 school buses transporting children from villages to schools are equipped with modern satellite navigation devices GLONASS/GPS with the use of communication channels of OAO “Megafon” and OAO “Mobilnye Telesistemy” in Tatarstan.
In accordance with the RT Cabinet Decree №661 dated 02.08.2012, monitoring of school buses is implemented by GUP “Center of information technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the operator of the unified system of monitoring of transport vehicles.
Equipping of school buses with satellite navigation devices is provided at the expense of Tatarstan budget funds and performed by the republican Ministry of informatization and communications.
Due to monitoring of school buses the number of violations connected with overspeeding decreased twice in comparison with the same period of 2011.
Connection of school buses to the satellite system helped to prevent their inappropriate use and minimize accident rate and violation of speed rate.
