LTE network launched in Kazan

A solemn ceremony of launching 4G LTE network took place at the Kazan IT-park with participation of Russia’s Deputy Minister of communications Denis Sverdlov, Tatarstan’s deputy Prime Minister - Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, Director General of OOO Skartel Igor Torgov and Director of the Volga branch of OAO Megafon Aleksandr Grigoriev.
Three operators launched LTE network - OOO Skartel (Yota trademark), OAO Megafon and OAO MTS. The network covers 80% of the Kazan territory and numbers 118 basic stations.
Kazan has become the 8th city to receive Yota LTE services. According to broadcasts, subscriber base will make 10000 users by the end of 2012.

In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.
Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
