644 km of overhead communication lines to be changed for underground ones in 2012

On August 3 the RT Ministry of informatization and communications received resolution of the Federal antimonopoly service about termination of a case in respect of the Tatarstan Government.
To the point, the Russian Association of cable television initiated the investigation proceedings. They supposed that the requirement of the Tatarstan Government regarding liquidation of overhead communication lines would create unequal conditions for operators. The case was considered by the Federal antimonopoly service on July 11 and it was terminated in connection with corrective actions.
The Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov explained that the government called off two edicts and they are unnecessary now. “Municipalities have determined their attitude towards overhead communication lines in the context of current regulations,” Roman Shaikhutdinov said.
“We continue working on liquidation of overhead communication lines, arrangements with operators have been reached and 38 agreements of intent signed,” the minister noted.
644 km of overhead communication lines will have been liquidated by the end of the year.
Total length of overhead communication lines in Tatarstan is 3.5 thousand km. work is being conducted in nine republican cities with participation of 24 operators.

In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.
Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
