Roman Shaykhutdinov visits Oracle OpenWorld Exhibition in San Francisco
On October 23, during his working visit to the USA as member of Tatarstan delegation, Minister of Informatization and Communication Roman Shaykhutdinov visited specialized exhibition held under Oracle OpenWorld 2018 International Conference.
Oracle OpenWorld is an annual event held by Oracle Corporation for information technology professionals with over 50,000 participants.
A meeting of Tatarstan delegation with senior managers of the Oracle Company took place.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaykhutdinov briefed about the city of Innopolis, which was built from scratch and has a modern, world-class infrastructure now.
Innopolis has become a hub for the development of Russian and then foreign IT companies, he added.
"We think that the digitalization of the economy is an important task,” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at a meeting with the Oracle leadership. He wanted to strengthen the relations and suggested that Tatarstan and large enterprises of the region will become not just users of Oracle software and services, but also partners.
In their turn, representatives of the company appreciated the efforts of Tatarstan made to the development of the IT industry and to digitalization in general. They showed interest in a long-term cooperation.
