Higher school of information technologies and information systems celebrates first birthday

One of the newest educational units of the Kazan Federal University - Higher school of information technologies and information systems opened in 2011 has celebrated first birthday on March 19.
To the point, first students of IT-department started studying in September 2011. Moreover, 30 applicants who got maximum scores at the Unified state exam received personal grants from IT-park for the first academic year.
Instruction is implemented in accordance with the certified curriculum which satisfies the latest technologies of Microsoft, HP, Cisco, IBM. Lecturers from KFU and best world universities are involved in delivering key disciplines.
From the second course students have opportunity to practice in leading IT-companies, including residents of IT-park. Training is aimed at providing personnel support for developing IT sphere in RT.
Several important events have happened in the school during the first year. For example, the laboratory of international IT-company Exigen Services opened in October 2011. The laboratory FujitsuLabGDC which opened on November 23 has become the first educational – production project of Fujitsu company in Tatarstan. The laboratory offers unique opportunities for developing technical and teamwork skills in the context of solid projects and products.
December 2011 was marked by advent of three new laboratories: the laboratory of the Institute of applied semiotics of RT Academy of sciences, the laboratory “Information technologies in medicine”, and the laboratory “Intellectual research systems and semantic technologies”.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
