Microsoft presents Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 with interface localized for Tatar language

Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 localized for Tatar language are available for free download to all users of licensed versions of Microsoft software on the web site http://www.microsofttatar.ru/ . Such information was given by President of Microsoft in Russia Nikolai Pryanishnikov during presentation of software programs of the company in IT-park.

In the event took part RT President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Premier Zilya Valeeva and Chief of Microsoft representation in VFD Kirill Semenikhin.

The language package of operating system Microsoft Windows 7 and office applications Microsoft Office 2010 provides localization of software products and several other solutions. For instance, there is a complete module for spelling check that follows spelling of a user on his entering the text.

“Today we finish the next stage of cooperation between RT government and Microsoft company that has been developing since 2005”, - Rustam Minnikhanov stressed. He thanked top management of the company for fruitful work and reminded that versions of Windows in Tatar language were downloaded and installed in 123 countries. RT President emphasized that software products in Tatar are very popular. He also reminded that major work is carried out on developing the project “E-government of the Republic of Tatarstan”, transferring state services in electronic format and reformation of educational sector. Microsoft software is also used for realization of these projects.

Greeting guests Nikolai Pryanishnikov noted that Tatarstan is one of the leaders in development of IT sector in Russia that favours economic growth of republic and labor efficiency. New products of Microsoft company Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 also contributes to raising of efficiency. Nikolai Pryanishnikov presented disks with the first licensed copy of Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 in Tatar to Rustam Minnikhanov.

Creation of language package for Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 is the result of strategic partnership between Tatarstan government and Microsoft company that is being realized with the frameworks of Memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of IT development. In 2006 Tatarstan became the first region in Russia to localize Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista and package of office applications Microsoft Office 2007 for national language. Cooperation with Microsoft company let solving an important task – provide citizens of RT and millions of Tatars all over the world with opportunity to use modern informatization tools in their native language.

Microsoft company is going to expand the range of software products with maintenance of Tatar language.
