Tatarstan Communications Department celebrates 85th anniversary

On October 16, Tatarstan Communications Department will celebrate its 85th anniversary. At the beginning of 20th century communication systems of Kazan gubernia consisted of stationary enterprises and only 3 per cent of all residential area was provided with communication services. The network which was built before the revolution did not meet economic and political conditions. Due to the efforts taken by new government, postal communication services were provided in the remotest areas of the republic, and colossal success was achieved in the industry.

In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.

Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
