Innopolis University included in state programme of innovative economy development

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved new version of state programme “Economic development and innovative economy” that implies establishment of Innopolis University in Tatarstan. The relevant decree is available on the official website of Russian Government. The University will become the heart of Innopolis innovative centre.
Innopolis University is the first Russian university that specializes in modern information technologies. Its main mission will be training of highly qualified personnel to bring domestic innovative industry to a new level. Recruitment and training of teachers and research workers is carried out at the first stage of the university development. The compliance with international academic standards is achieved by cooperation with world’s top universities. Carnegie Mellon University became the university partner in 2013. In accordance with Memorandum of understanding signed in 2012, CMU renders expert support in development and implementation of academic, research and teacher training programmes.
About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
