Kazan residents generate nearly a terabyte of traffic during Youth Day celebration

30 June 2026, Tuesday

On June 27, residents and guests of Kazan downloaded approximately 990 GB of data during the Youth Day celebration at the URAM extreme sports park. According to Beeline Company, this is nearly three times the usual weekend traffic volume. Before the holiday, the operator prepared the telecom infrastructure in the park and enhanced network coverage.

During the celebration, guests immediately shared their impressions: uploading videos from matches, messaging on instant messengers and posting on social media. The highest network load was observed from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM – during this period, participants used mobile internet most actively. At the same time, voice communication remained stable, with users making nearly 71,000 calls throughout the day.

Unsurprisingly, young people actively used mobile internet: citizens under 29 accounted for a quarter of all internet sessions. The group aged 30–45 was the leader in connections (42%). Users over 46 accounted for 31% of connections. Meanwhile, women downloaded 17.5% more data than men.

Among the most popular services used by holiday guests were social networks, search engines, cloud storage, online maps, video platforms, and instant messengers where participants shared their highlights.

Interest in the event extended beyond Tatarstan residents: guests came from Mari El, Moscow, Chuvashia, the Moscow region, Bashkortostan and the Ulyanovsk Region.
