Dear friends! Colleagues!
I congratulate you on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day!
Who among you sent a real paper letter in the past year? Not an official request in an envelope, but a personal handwritten message to loved ones? I believe there are few of us today who still do that.
We have long since fully and irrevocably switched to the digital age. Studies show that the average resident of our country spends over 8 hours online each day—that is essentially a third of their life. In Tatarstan, this "habit" is supported by the work of thousands of base stations and tens of thousands of kilometers of fiber-optic cables crisscrossing the republic.
The path that has brought us to such speeds was made possible due to the collective efforts of specialists around the world. on May 17, exactly 161 years ago, the first International Telegraph Convention was signed. Since then, telegraphy has evolved into radio and telephony and eventually into the global network we rely on today.
However, our industry is now undergoing a serious test of resilience. We operate in conditions where security is the top priority and communication serves as a vital tool for protection.
Today, the work of communication and IT specialists involves round-the-clock effort to ensure the stability of all systems across the republic. In current conditions, infrastructure is sometimes put into special modes to eliminate threats and protect lives. I am grateful to each of our specialists for their calm, professional approach to this challenging work and to the residents of the republic for understanding that behind every temporary limitation lies our collective safety.
I wish all of us reliable communication and secure systems. May our work bring excitement and tangible results and may warmth and comfort always await us at home. Wishing you resilience, good health and as many good news as possible! Happy holiday!
