In 2025, Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization continues to implement the federal programme for the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State", aimed at launching 4G communications in villages and towns with a population of 100 to 500 people.
This year, the plan for installing base stations has been increased to 89, which will allow even more people to access high-speed Internet.
Last year, 2024, our region made significant steps: more than 1,000 base stations were installed and modernized, including 233 new one and 827 modernized one. This is important not only for large cities, but also for residents of small towns, who will now be able to enjoy all the benefits of the digital world. In addition, the ministry pays attention to improving the quality of communication along highways. In 2024, 10 new stations were built on the M7 "Volga" highway, and 46 on the M12 "Vostok", which ensured full mobile coverage. It is noteworthy that the annual growth of wired Internet users was about 5%, and mobile - 6%. Tatarstan is becoming a leader in the Volga Federal District with more than 8 million active SIM cards and more than 5 million mobile Internet users.
Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications Ayrat Khayrullin said: "Increasing the quota for installing base stations is an important step towards ensuring equal access to digital technologies for all residents of the republic. We continue to work actively so that everyone can use the Internet without restrictions!" This result can be achieved due to close cooperation between the government, telecom operators and federal programmes!
