Kazan residents become the first in the Telegram user rating

MTS, a digital ecosystem, analyzed the use of the Telegram messenger in Russia based on the anonymized Big Data of MTS in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Kazan shares first place among cities with a population of one million in using the platform with St. Petersburg, and in terms of demand for the messenger in the country it ranks seventh.

In terms of popularity of Telegram in the region, Dagestan, Adygea and the Kaliningrad region are in the same position as Tatarstan. And the leaders of this rating are the Magadan region (70 per cent), Sakha (Yakutia) (67 per cent) and St. Petersburg (65 per cent), as a city of federal significance.

The authors of the study emphasize that the monthly number of Telegram users nationwide exceeded 85 million people at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023.

This is 10 per cent higher than the same period in 2022. More than 70 per cent of Russians actively use the messenger: in the fourth quarter of 2023, 63 per cent of subscribers visited the platform more than 25 times a month.
