By the 280th anniversary of the poet, MTS digitizes Derzhavin places in Tatarstan

MTS, a digital ecosystem, has launched a new free audio guide «Kazan-Bolgar», a 180 kilometer route which also passes the Laishevsky region, connected with the early period of life of Gavriil Derzhavin. Guests and residents of the republic will have the opportunity to listen to the history of the writer’s family and childhood, passing through the villages of Sokury, Egoryevo and Derzhavino, located along the route of the audio guide. The memory of the great countryman is immortalized in his native Tatarstan land.

The central square of Laishevo and the public garden in Sokury were named after Derzhavin, monuments were erected in Kazan, Laishevo and Kaipy. Every year, the Derzhavin Readings are held in the Laishevo region with the award of the regional literary prize and All-Russian Literary Derzhavin Festival are held.
