During the May holidays, Tatarstan residents actively traveled around Russia

MegaFon operator experts analyzed the anonymized data of subscribers in roaming and said that this year, a quarter more Russian tourists went on abroad trips for the May holidays than in the same period in 2022. The tourist flow to Asia has grown significantly, and the CIS countries hosted less Russian travelers.

Turkey has become the leader among foreign destinations for Tatarstan citizens - since the beginning of May, about 28 per cent of tourists from the republic have visited it. Kazakhstan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan are among the top five favorite countries for the residents of Tatarstan. In general, Tatarstan residents traveled more actively in Russia than abroad. Most often, people left the republic for neighboring regions - Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Mari El, Samara and Kirov regions.
