Journalist and creator of the blog “Just Like Other Animals” comes to Kazan with an open lecture
On April 9, the Bashir Rameev IT-park will host an open lecture of the author and host of the popular video blog "Just Like Other Animals", naturalist, biologist and writer Evgenia Timonova. The theme of her speech in the IT park is “Buy an elephant!”. We will learn about how advertising works from the point of view of biology, how it manipulates our opinion and makes us do strange things, how advertisers use our nature for their own purposes. We will also consider evolutionarily proven ways to efficiently advertise and learn how to resist them.
In 2013, Yevgenya created scientific and popular video channel “Just Like Other Animals" about the biological causes of human behavior. The programme reveals unexpected analogies of human and animal behavior.
“Just Like Other Animals” grew out of the idea that biology is a universal metaphor of all aspects of human being, that is, everything that we see in man has some echo in what we consider to be purely human.
