“Big Four” operators launch project on mobile transport fare payment

OAO “Rostelecom”, OAO “Mobile Telesystems”, OAO “Megafon”, OAO “Vympelcom”, OOO “Briz technologii”, and OAO “Transport card” have announced launching of the first Russia’s joint innovative project on mobile transport fare payment.
By the beginning of 27th World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan subscribers of all big Russian operators will pay public transport fares using their mobile telephones. Fares will be charged off mobile accounts in accordance with tariffs set by carriers.
The project is being implemented under the auspices of Kazan Mayor’s Office and Executive Committee.
To connect to “Mobile ticket” service one has to purchase a package with a special SIM card that supports NFS with a transport application installed. If you already use mobile services of an operator, just change your SIM card to the new one that supports “Mobile ticket” service.
This service is also available for smartphone users.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
