Russia Open Source IT Summit opens in the IT park

The demand for Open Source in Russia is growing - according to analysts, in 4 years over 90 per cent of domestic companies will use open source software. At the same time, most of the consumers are technology customers. This opens up opportunities for the development and monetization of OS solutions.

The Russia Open Source IT Summit in Kazan is a new business platform where big business, government, IT companies and domestic software developers will meet to discuss the present and future of the IT industry in general and OS solutions in particular. The Russia Open Source series of events is held with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia and the Ministry of Digitalization of Tatarstan. The organizer of the summit is the Russian Foundation for the Development of Information Technologies and IT Park is its co-organizer.

It is a great honor for us to host the first Russia Open Source IT Summit at the Kazan IT Park. It is especially important that 2022 has been declared the Year of Digitalization. The digitalization and growing penetration of Open Source technologies into business is an inextricable process. Today the Open Source software market in Russia provides room for significant growth in many areas. In 2026 more than 90 percent of companies will use open source software,” Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ayrat Khayrullin said.
