How can IT companies get state accreditation

3 March 2022, Thursday

State accreditation allows IT companies to apply for the support measures announced by the Government, including tax breaks and other preferences. Benefits are provided to companies under the additional conditions: IT activities should bring at least 90 per cent of the total number of income and the number of employees is at least 7 people.

Russian Ministry of Digital Development provides the state accreditation service.

An organization working in the IT area can apply for it, regardless of the organizational-legal form and form of ownership.

• It is possible to apply at the State Services Portal. Applications are submitted only from legal entities, and accreditation decisions are made within one working day.

• It is possible to learn more about the conditions of accreditation and get acquainted with the current register of accredited organizations on the official website of the Ministry of Digital Development.

The office of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko reported that about 500 applications for state accreditation were submitted from companies after the adoption of additional measures to support the IT industry.

On March 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures to accelerate the development of the IT industry in Russia. The document was signed "in order to ensure the accelerated development of the information technology industry in the Russian Federation"

For three years, Russian IT companies will be exempt from the income tax payment and inspections by regulatory authorities. They will be provided with soft loans on favourable terms at a rate not exceeding three per cent.

Employees of IT-companies will be able to apply for a preferential mortgage and receive a deferment from military service for the time of their work in Russian companies.

Tax preferences will be extended to mobile application developers and organizations involved in the implementation, installation and testing of domestic solutions. The government will expand the grant programme to create domestic solutions.
