MegaFon Telecommunication Company has compiled the rating of the most «downloading» settlements of the republic. In terms of the average monthly volume of Internet traffic per inhabitant, small settlements of up to 10,000 people became leaders.

MegaFon analysts came to this conclusion after studying mobile traffic for 2020-2021 using big data tools.

According to the results of the past year, the village of Vvedenskaya Sloboda in the Verkhneuslonsky region of the republic became the most online-active - on average, over 67 GB of traffic accounted for the operator's client every month, which is enough to watch several seasons of your favorite TV series. The urban-type settlement of Nizhnyaya Maktama, located near Almetyevsk, with a consumption of about 36 GB ranked second, the village of Bolshie Kabany closes the top three, where a MegaFon subscriber downloads 35 GB per month. For the majority of residents of these settlements, mobile Internet has become an alternative to fixed access.

It is expected that, on average, citizens use significantly less Internet traffic than rural residents only 20-25 GB per month. In the ranking of cities, Kazan reached third place, giving way to Innopolis and Agryz. During the year, the average monthly traffic in the Tatarstan smartphone increased by 38 per cent. The operator recorded particular dynamics among residents of Muslyumovo (87 per cent), Kaybitsy (81 per cent) and Novosheshminsk (79 per cent) regions.
