Users of the Russian State Services Portal will be able to receive services remotely using biometrics, at the same time all existing services will remain available to those who refuse to submit biometric data.
“Biometrics expands the capabilities of State Services Portal users, but does not impose any restrictions on existing services. If a university student wants to take the exam remotely, he will need to submit biometrics, to prove his identity. At the same time, the user will always have the opportunity to come to the university and pass the exam personally. In any case, the option of obtaining the service will remain open. Biometrics will be required to prove identity in a number of services, thus avoiding crime in legally significant transactions. I emphasized once again, that all existing services will remain available to registered users without the need for biometrics,” Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev said.
