In the Year of Digitalization, all rural settlements of Tatarstan to have access to telemedicine and a wide range of e-services

On November 2, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, Deputy Minister of Digitalization of the republic Albert Yakovlev said that today Tatarstan ranks first among the regions of Russia in the number of socially significant facilities connected to high-speed Internet.

In 2019-2021, as many as 3,527 facilities were connected to fiber-optic communication lines in Tatarstan under Digital Economy of the Russian Federation national project. The major work was done in 2021, when high-speed Internet reached 2296 facilities, which makes 79 per cent more than it was planned.

A record 1,450 kilometres of optical communication lines were laid by the national project this year. The amount of optics built in 3 years increased 16 times.

The next year was declared the Year of Digitalization and it was decided to comprehensively develop digital infrastructure at socially significant facilities. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov approved to allocate funding to equip all medical and obstetric stations with new computers. It will make possible to introduce e-medical books and use telemedicine in rural areas. Connecting high-speed Internet in the executive committees of rural settlements will make it possible to provide more state services.
