On May 20, in Kazan, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ayrat Khayrullin held a working meeting with the CEO of the largest educational portal “GeekBrains” Alexander Volchek.
GeekBrains is a modern educational ecosystem, branch of Mail.Group and that offers training (long courses, short intensives, lectures, master classes, etc.) in 8 relevant areas, including:
• Programming;
• Design;
• Marketing;
• Management;
• Analytics;
• Game development;
• Creativity;
• Business.
The platform has special programmes for schoolchildren and the opportunity for corporate training. In total, the GeekBrains offers 220 online training courses. According to Volchek, 4.5 million people are currently registered with the GeekBrains, and almost 6.3 million people have completed training on the resources, one million of whom, after the completion of the course, received a new in-demand profession. GeekBrains partners include: Sber, LitRes, SuperJob, LinguaLeo, Burger King, Delivery Club, etc.
Khayrullin emphasized that Tatarstan has always approached the issues of training personnel in IT technologies with special attention. Higher educational institutions that train qualified IT specialists were established in the republic, and one of the best IT technical colleges in the country, International Competence Centre - the Kazan Technical College of Information Technologies and Communications, is successfully operating.
During the meeting, the parties discussed possible ways of interaction between the republic and the GeekBrains and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
