Ayrat Khayrullin: 95 per cent of residents of Bavly region have Internet access

On March 31, during his working visit to Bavly region of the republic, speaking at a meeting with regional telecom operators, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ayrat Khayrullin said that the Bavly region is one of the leaders in the level of broadband Internet penetration.

During his visit, Tatarstan Minister held several meetings.

At their meeting, Khayrullin and Head of the region Ramil Gatiyatullin discussed the development of infocommunication technologies in the municipality and issues of improving the quality of communication.

According to Khayrullin, the Bavly region shows fairly good results in digital development. Almost half of the population are active users of the State Services Portal of the republic, which is one of the highest rates in Tatarstan.

Optical communication lines were laid to 26 settlements of the region (95.2 per cent of the population). In 2021 in Bavly, it is planned to connect 18 socially significant facilities to the high-speed Internet, as well as 21 additional facilities (in 2020, the Internet lines were laid to 11 facilities). Also to improve communications, five new base stations will be built in the area by the end of the year.

During the visit, the minister visited the office of the regional Multifunctional centre and the post office.
