As many as 700 teachers and 10,000 students to receive digital competencies in 2020

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the establishment of a supporting educational centre in the areas of the digital economy at the Innopolis University.

The centre will train IT specialists and specialists from various areas, namely, medicine, oil and gas industry, education, agriculture, journalism, engineering, construction and others.

Over 550 million roubles are allocated for the funding of the centre in 2020.

Teachers will be trained according to the development programme "Digital technologies in teaching specialized disciplines." As many as 700 specialists are already getting new skills.

Innopolis University estimates that 700 trained teachers and methodologists will be able to teach digital competencies to 10,000 students in broad subject areas.
