Anniversary United Nations Internet Governance Forum to be held in Russia

Press Office of Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media said that Russia will host the 20th anniversary United Nations Internet Governance Forum in 2025.

The choice of Russia as a venue for the anniversary forum is a great honor for us and evidence of our country's recognition in the development of the information society and digital technologies. We aim to ensure that the forum results in practical solutions to open and secure Internet, taking into account the interests of all online participants,” Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Maxim Parshin said.

Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is one of the main international events to discuss the development of the «worldwide network» and digital technologies, bringing together representatives of states, business, public organizations and experts.

The forum has traditionally focused on cybersecurity, personal data protection and universal access to the Internet. Another forum topic is new technologies: the Internet of Things, AI, blockchain, big data.
