On October 14, during the transition of Tatarstan to digital broadcasting, a backup satellite earth station was launched in Kazan.
The station will provide uninterrupted television broadcasting for MTS satellite TV subscribers throughout Russia, regardless of the weather, carrying out maintenance work and excludes the possibility of an emergency shutdown.
“The satellite communications station that we are launching today is an infrastructure facility, providing satellite broadcasting throughout Russia. Our partnership with MTS Company supports the digital leadership of Tatarstan and helps us to provide high-quality services to residents of the republic,” Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications Airat Khairullin said.
On October 14, Tatarstan switched from analogue to digital broadcasting. Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Airat Khairullin, Deputy Minister of the Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia Alexey Volin and other officials took part in the ceremony of the transition to digital TV, held in Kazan.
