With “People’s control” ahead to “ECOleaders”

VIII ceremony of awarding winners of the republican contests “ECOleader” and “Man and nature” was held at Korston. Awards were for the first time given to three Tatarstaners, active participants of “People’s control”.

Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Deputy Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Rimma Ratnikova, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Minister of ecology and nature resources Artem Sidorov, Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov took part in the ceremony.

“Ecology is the environment we live in. It is the basis of human life and activity, health and perception of the world. What is more important, it is the future of our land, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We have a big history with many different periods. We know how easily ecology is destroyed and how difficult is to restore it. Today I would like to thank everyone who deals with these issues every day. Tatarstan’s largest enterprises spend billions of roubles on such measures. The companies which have become leaders this year do this work not because of legal obligations, it is the civic stand of their chiefs, moral responsibility before present-day life, present and future Tatarstan,” the PM said.

Active participants of “People’s control” system were noted at the ceremony. The system where citizens can address authorities with most urgent problems was launched in April 2012. 48 000 users are now registered in the system.
