Tatarstan’s Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov handed grants to 120 students of the Higher school of information technologies and systems

A solemn ceremony of awarding certificates for education at the Higher school of information technologies and systems of the Kazan Federal University took place at the Kazan IT-park. Tatarstan’s Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, rector of the Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov and a special guest – founder of Parallels company Sergei Belousov took part in the event.

Roman Shaikhutdinov, Ilshat Gafurov, Director of the Kazan IT-park Dinar Nasyrov and Director of the Higher school of information technologies and systems Airat Khasyanov handed grants to 120 Kazan students who showed best results at the Unified State Exam in maths, informatics, and Russian language.

The minister reminded that a unique grant program to support students getting education in the sphere of information technologies has been working in Tatarstan for two years, in 2011 IT-park allocated 30 personal grants for students of the higher school. The sum of state support made 2.2 mln roubles. This year the Tatarstan Government decided to increase the sum that now makes 13.5 mln roubles.

In comparison with traditional technical institutions and departments, the school is notable for practice-oriented education.

Curriculum is based on authorized programmes of Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, HP, Cisco, Huawei, Siemens, SAP companies. Lecturers from the Kazan federal university and best world universities are invited to deliver key disciplines.

From the second course students can practice at leading IT companies, including IT-park residents. Education is aimed at providing staff support to favour development of IT industry in Russia and Tatarstan, in particular.
