Innopolis-Kazan opens office in Silicon Valley
4 July 2012, Wednesday
The Kazan IT-park is creating a working group for recruitment of foreign companies committed to invest in IT start-up companies for development of the industry in the Republic of Tatarstan. These companies are meant to become partners of future Innopolis.
The idea to open a representative office in Silicon Valley arose in 2011 when Tatarstan authorities intensively discussed the issue of attracting foreign experts, innovative companies and investors to republic. That time this idea seemed to be hardly probable. However, several companies from Silicon Valley open their subsidiary enterprises in Kazan today recruiting staff in the sphere of information technologies.
Renata Akhunova, president of Global Innovation Access successfully working in the sphere of development of technology companies will manage the office in Silicon Valley.
“Since Innopolis is being created mainly for IT-specialists, we need to establish close relationships with the main global IT center - Silicon Valley. Therefore, opening of a representative office is not a one-time project, no doubt we will be developing it in future. As we see foreign companies are ready to cooperate with republic, Kazan IT-park, and future Innopolis. American start-up companies open their research and developing centers in Kazan, we are successfully going towards creation of a powerful IT-university with the help of Carnegie Mellon University and negotiating with other countries to create joint projects,” Renata Akhunova said.
