An autonomous Yandex taxi makes the first 1000 trips in Innopolis

Two months after the launch of the test zone, an autonomous Yandex taxi made its 1000th trip in Innopolis. Most often, residents of the city used autonomous vehicles to get to the university and technopark. The car makes about 20 trips every day, the duration of each trip is 10 minutes.

Innopolis became the first city in Europe, where a test zone for an autonomous Yandex taxi was opened this summer.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was one of the first, who tested a new autonomous taxi. Deputy Prime-Minister of Tatarstan, Minister of Informatization and Communication, Roman Shaykhutdinov and Director General of Yandex in Russia Elena Bunina signed an agreement on development autonomous transport in the republic.
