Kazan hosts scientific-practical conference on geodesy and geo-information systems
On September 4, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka exhibition centre, under Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum – 2018 and the International Specialized Exhibition "GEO-KAZAN: Exploration. Geodesy. Cartography ", a two-day international scientific and practical conference" Topical issues of geodesy and geoinformation systems” has started. The conference gathered over 250 participants from all over Russia. Deputy Prime Minister of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Informatization and Communication Roman Shaykhutdinov took part in the plenary part of the event.
In his welcoming speech to the participants of the conference, the Minister noted that today, in the era of the digitalization of all sectors of the economy, Tatarstan is actively involved in the establishment of new developments, including in the field of geodesy, cartography, geoinformation systems and services. In particular, the work on creating a spatial data foundation of Tatarstan, digital plans of Kazan, and the regional geoportal is underway. Modern geoinformation and navigation technologies are being introduced in the republic's economy – 92 per cent of agricultural fields have already been certified this year, which will significantly improve the quality of management of the region's agro-industrial complex.
