By 2013 3G communication will encompass 90 % of the Tatarstan population, the Minister of info and communications informed at All-Russia forum of mobile developers Mobile People held in Technopark in the sphere of high technologies IT-park on October 14.
By his words, nowadays 3G Internet serves all big cities in republic, encompassing 80 % of population. He marked as well that special mobile applications for receiving translations of unknown words from Russian and Tatar languages will be developed for Universiade 2013. Taking a picture of such words on a mobile telephone will be enough for this function.
Nikolay Nikiforov also told about plans regarding the development of mobile applications for receiving state services. He believes applications for mobile devices containing the most popular e-services are needed to provide mobility of state services for citizens of Tatarstan and the whole country.

Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.
