On May 24, at the Korston Entertainment Complex, IT&Security Forum 2018, one of the largest events in Russia and Eastern Europe in the area of information technologies and cybersecurity, opened in Kazan.

The number of appeals to the People’s Control system from Tatarstan citizens almost doubled, with the arrival of warm spring days. The system helps the citizens to solve problems of improving the territories, maintaining roads, improving the quality of services.

If there were about 5,000 applications submitted monthly in winter, their number increased to 8,500 in April, and for incomplete May there were already over 7,500 applications registered.

All-Russian qualifying competitions for the right to take part in the final of the National Championship WorldSkills are being held these days in Yakutsk.  The final of WorldSkills Championship will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in August 2018. About 300 contestants and experts from 56 Russian regions, including Tatarstan, are taking part in the competitions.

On May 23, at the IT-park in Kazan, during the IT&Security Forum 2018, Tatarstan Ministry of Informatization and Communication held a session on the issues of ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure. Specialists of companies responsible for the development and operation of information systems, automated process control systems and information security attended the event.

The second geoinformation hackathon “Cartomancy” was held at the Innopolis University last weekend. As many as 19 teams from 15 cities of Russia worked on GIS projects that will help in forecasting crops, oil extraction and solving geomarketing problems.

On May 21, Rostelecom, Tattelecom and Huawei Companies launched the new generation 5G network test zone in Innopolis.

Tatarstan Ministry of Informatization and Communication informs the Kazan citizens that maintenance works will be carried from May 21, 9.15 a.m. to May 24, 5 p.m.

On May 18, during a working visit of Tatarstan delegation to the People’s Republic of China, the Tatarstan – Fujian business forum was held in the city of Xiamen.

Minister of Informatization and Communication of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov made a detailed presentation of the IT-potential of Tatarstan. In particular, the representatives of China were introduced the opportunities of the technopark in the sphere of high technology IT-park and the city of Innopolis.

Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the republic received about 1,000 applications from Tatarstan schoolchildren about unauthorized dumps, which they recorded using the mobile application "School Eco Patrol". Supervisory measures have already been taken for most of the appeals.

On May 18, during a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, Tatarstan delegation led by President of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov, visited Meiya Pico IT-company, which is a leading provider of products and services in the area of digital forensics and information security in China.
