Representatives of state institutions to be able to authenticate their VKontakte communities through the State Services Portal

Russian Ministry of Digital Development and VKontakte are testing the procedure of additional verification of the pages of Russian state organizations in the social network. Their representatives will be able to confirm the authenticity of the communities through the State Services Portal. New mechanism will be accessible for the pages of the official publicity of schools, hospitals and authorities. The new feature will help to distinguish verified pages of state organizations from unofficial public.

The creators and administrators of VKontakte pages, who have the status of an administrator or manager in the organization’s personal account at the State Services Portal, will be able to use the additional verification mechanism.

After the completion of the verification, the government organization mark will appear on the community page. This measure is aimed at reducing the risk of fake pages appearing, obtaining information from unverified sources, and will also become an additional guarantee of security for users.
