Tatarstan switched to digital broadcasting

On October 14, Tatarstan switched from analogue to digital broadcasting. Over 1.3 million households in the republic got the opportunity to watch 20 channels in digital quality for free.

Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Airat Khairullin, Deputy Minister of the Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia Alexey Volin and other officials took part in the ceremony of the transition to digital TV, held in Kazan.

According to Volin, the final stage of the transition to digital television has completed today in Russia.

Khairullin noted that the transition has been possible due to the coordinated work of thousands of people.

Due to the transition to digital broadcasting, Tatarstan citizens will watch 20 TV channels in high quality for free.
